peplers.blogspot.com This is my chainsaw instructor demonstrating a cut he called the “Danish Pie”, as he first saw it years ago in Denmark, and they referred to the the supporting block of wood as a “pie slice”. It’s a combination of a boring cut and a split level cut – boring through the tree will help avoid it splitting, and the split level part allows you to get a felling lever in to push it against the direction it is leaning in.
